You are not alone. Depression and anxiety are REAL. Are you ready to find answers– real answers, not band-aid answers? Begin with this tool:
Take a piece of paper and pen. Fill in the following sentence with one of the above words:
I feel ___________________ because ___________________.
Then WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! Don’t worry about how it looks or if your spelling is correct. Let your words come out, uncensored. No one will read this.
You see, our bodies are recording devices. We take it all in. And most of us don’t do a good job of “taking it out!” We think that if we put a negative emotion ‘on the back burner,’ then it is gone. We believe that if we express a negative emotion, we are somehow bad or wrong.
My road to final and complete healing from the Depression Monster included this important tool. I still use it.
It is so simple, yet so powerful.
Now what? You have written for several minutes or more…now is the fun part!
Rip the paper into tiny pieces and throw it away
burn it in a bucket in your garage or outside
if you’re in a car, toss the tiny pieces out the window!
